I stumbled upon an interesting public service on my last walk through Kuopio's city center. The City of Kuopio was sponsoring a "wellness check," and the kind volunteers asked if I had a moment to participate. What followed was a fairly thorough physical exam. I was there for about 20 minutes - including use of an InBody 720 and 5 minutes resting on my back with a heart monitor strapped to my chest.
It was really quite impressive. I understand why Finland boasts one of the most active/fit populations.
The results: I am slightly less fit than the average Finnish 40 year-old male. I need to loose weight, eat more protein, and build muscle mass. No surprises, but still an eye-opener.
Off for a run!
