I frequent a bakery that receives fresh gluten free pastries on Wednesdays. Yesterday I picked up some traditional Karelian savory pastries filled with a rice porridge. The friendly woman at the bakery, who has been practicing her English on me, shared that to eat it in a Finnish way, I should boil an egg, smash in some butter and salt, and then put the mixture on top of the pastry.
My attempt worked quite well - Marimekko napkin and Moomin mug to boot. My coffee was a dark roast, though.
